Kimono

Japanese traditional dress is called “kimono”.
People used to wear it every day, but nowadays, it is only on special occasions such as wedding, 3, 5, 7, and 20th-year celebration, and graduation.
Kimono wear is a long robe with a big sash around the waist.
It has many different patterns or colors!

Servers and landladies at traditional Sushi restaurants and Japanese-style hotels are in Kimono.3
It is their work uniform.

Kimono is worn in many layers, and it is not easy to put it on.
Even many Japanese people go to a specialist to get it on them.

Simpler and lighter version of Kimono is called “Yukata”.
Yukata is often worn in the summer and as a nightwear in Japanese-style hotels because it is easier and cooler to wear.
If you would like to buy a set of Japanese traditional dress, Yukata would be more accessible.
A set of Yukata wear would be around $100, where a set of Kimono would be $3000 and over.
