“Sake” is Japanese rice wine.
There are many different types of rice wine in the world, but Japanese rice wine “Sake” is probably the most famous rice wine in the western world.

It is made by fermenting rice.
Undiluted, pure sake contains 18%–20% of alcohol!!
Yes, it is a strong alcoholic drink.

It is often lowered to about 15% by diluting with water prior to bottling,
but it is still strong.
It is definitely NOT recommended if you are not much of a alcohol drinker.

Rice wine makers have their own choice on specific rice and water.
Some are sweeter than others, and some are more bitter than others.

You can drink it cold or hot.
It is good with any food too!

Be aware that the legal drinking age in Japan is 20 years old.
You cannot buy, drink or serve alcohol under 20 while you are in Japan, no matter where you come from!

酒は、日本のお米から出来るお酒で、お米からできるお酒の中で、”酒”は 欧米で一番知られているものでしょう。
